Scibermed Virtual Institute (SVI) is a collaborative Internet workplace that deals with new technologies, procedures, practices, and policies that impact American healthcare quality, service, and cost. The company is focused on furthering the development and acceptance of minimally invasive surgery.

Challenge:
SVI is a subsidiary of The Biomedical Research Foundation of Northwest Louisiana (www.biomed.org). Its web site is a two-time award-winner of the prestigious Smithsonian Computer World medallion. UX wanted to help keep it competitive, as SVI prepared to post a discussion on the progression and direction of minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Michael J Torma MD had just interviewed leaders in both the medical and computer science fields.

Solution:
UX collaborated with SciberMed.com to provide access to videos and articles on the topic, as well as an “executive boardroom” for teleconferencing and an advanced search function for medical databases.
